  • The title is a reference to the novel of the same name by Margaret Mitchell, which would later become a more well-known 1939 film.
  • When Dr. Fist gives Cleveland a "fart card", he says "With great power, comes great responsibility." A phrase that is commonly said in the Spiderman franchise.
  • Quagmire calls Cleveland "Joey," a reference to the failed Friends spinoff of the same name.
  • Coach McFall sings "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter during a montage of Lester and Kendra's time on the karaoke contest, a reference to the fifth season of American Idol doing the same.
  • There is a brief reference to The Wizard of Oz, as Cleveland states "Auntie M" when he sees the fart tornado he created.
