The Commodores are an American funk/soul band of the 1970s and 1980s. The members of the group met as mostly freshmen at Tuskegee Institute (now Tuskegee University) in 1968, and signed with Motown in November 1972, having first caught the public eye opening for The Jackson 5 while on tour. The Commodores have sold over 75 million records worldwide.
In "Das Shrimp Boot", Cleveland gets tickets to "The Commodores Gold Record and All-You-Can-Eat Jumbo Shrimps Cruise" but gets addicted to energy pills trying to work forty hours straight and is captured by Somali pirates when he escapes from rebab. Whe he finds out the cruise ship is the pirates next target, Cleveland jumps overboard and tries to warn the cruise ship, joining in with the Commodores. When the pirates board the ship, they shoot and kill a non-original member of the band before Cleveland takes his energy pills and retakes the ship.
